Rebuilders is a support network for widows and widowers in the Vancouver/ Lower Mainland, BC area.

Are you widowed? Do you sometimes feel like a “5th wheel” when you are in a social setting? Would you like to meet others who are in a similar situation?

We are a group of widows/widowers in the Vancouver/Lower Mainland who meet on a monthly basis for a social event. Since we all have experienced the loss of a spouse we have much in common and therefore can relate to each other in a way that is not always possible with those who have not experienced this type of grief.

So far our activities have included a trip to Leavenworth for the Christmas lights, bus trip to Leavenworth for live performance of The Sound of Music, live theatre, games nights, Minter Gardens and picnic, trip to LaConnor for the tulip festival, picnics, barbecues, potlucks, etc.

Apr. 12th – La Connor Tulip Festival Bus Trip. Cost is $50.00 for bus, 2 special gardens, tour of LaConnor and a Barbecued Salmon Dinner. Please call a.s.a.p. if you are interested in joining us. .

May 24th- Annual Barbecue – 2:00 p.m. at the home of Frank & Marg Martens. Join us for games, visiting, etc. and a barbecue. Cost is $10.00 per person.

June 21st - DRAMA – COTTON PATCH GOSPEL Celebrate the life of Jesus in a whole new way with this modernized re-telling of the Gospel story. Set in rural Georgia during a time not too distant from our own, the disciple Matthew takes us on a grand adventure as he recounts Christ's dynamic impact on the world, from His birth to ministry to death to resurrection. An entertaining musical feast for the soul, Cotton Patch Gospel is a poignant experience for the entire family. Lunch at the Swiss Chalet in Abbotsford at 11:45 p.m. and the Drama at 2:00 p.m. Drama tickets are $11.00 per person.
